HOW PROTECT KEEPS YOU SAFE
PROtect is more than an app, it’s a modern social security service! PROtect alerts pre-selected friends and family members automatically if you need help, and builds a record of your whereabouts in the event of an emergency. Simply select your PROtectors, set the start and end times for your event, and let PROtect do the rest if you need help. It’s easy for anyone to use!
- From your contacts list (this syncs automatically), invite your PROtectors, sorted into three groups: your go-to circle, a back-up group, and some just-in-case extras. They don’t need to install the app in order to help you.
- Sync your calendar with the app anytime to plan your event PROtection in advance, or set up PROtected events as they happen. A timer will launch at the beginning of your event. Simply stop the timer manually with a pin or thumbprint when you’re done. As long as you end the event safely, no one will be alerted.
- If you don’t end the event yourself, PROtect alerts your go-to circle of contacts. If no one responds, PROtect then alerts your back-up group 10 minutes later. And if they don’t respond, your third group will be alerted 10 minutes after that. It’s like having a security force at your service.
- All PROtectors who respond gain access to the PROtector portal, where they can collaborate on getting you to safety, even if they don’t know one another. There they can also access information about your phone’s location, battery life, and any photos or notes you’ve taken with the app.
- If your situation has been resolved OR you simply forgot to end the event, just tap the “I’m OK” button to let them know you’re safe.
SAFETY EXTRAS
- Press the Help button to instantly alert your circle in case of emergency.
- Easily add 10 minutes to your timer if your event goes longer than expected.
- Use the text message feature to collect notes that will automatically be sent to your PROtectors if you need help.
- Use the Excuse Call feature to make your phone ring and excuse yourself from an uncomfortable situation.
- Use the camera feature to document your surroundings if you feel nervous during the event. Should a stranger grab your phone, the camera will automatically snap a selfie and post it to the PROtector portal.
